African-American director/ producer of Desert Rose Productions,
Stan Armstrong, is a graduate of UNLV where he received a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Communications and a minor in History and Film. Armstrong
a Las Vegas local has guest lectured throughout the U.S. about minorities
who served during the Civil War and showcasing his first film, The Forgotten
Battle of Fort Pillow, which has aired locally on PBS he is also a part
of the Humanities on the Road Program. Armstrong has tailored his lectures
to accommodate all ages K- College and has been well received by all.
Currently he is lecturing throughout the Clark County School system and
teaching classes at both The University of Nevada Las Vegas and is an
adjunct instructor at the Community College. Classes feature discussions
of the Civil War as well as films that incorporate historic events as
part of their genre.
